With the launch of 51ÉçÇø’s Hip-Hop Studies minor, members of 51ÉçÇø and the Hip-Hop community share their perspectives on what makes Chicago Hip-Hop unique.

In Fall 2017, 51ÉçÇø launched a minor in Hip-Hop Studies. Chicago is one of the major centers of American Hip-Hop culture, with artists like Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa, and Rhymefest drawing the national spotlight to Chicago. We asked experts and practitioners from 51ÉçÇø and the local Hip-Hop community to help define Chicago Hip-Hop.
